Dr Josephine Munthali is an educationalist from both the western and African traditions. She has advocated for the right to education and poverty alleviation for orphans and vulnerable children, including girls and women from her native home Malawi and her present home in Scotland. Josephine supports various charities in the United Kingdom. In Malawi, she continues to support orphans and vulnerable children and impoverished communities through a Charity she established in Scotland.

Josephine coordinated international development work and research in over 10 countries. Her article on issues related to child labour and education was published in a book entitled “Global Ideologies Surrounding Children’s Rights and Social Justice” in May 2017. Josephine is currently a Patron of Education Saves Lives, a charity based in London, United Kingdom.

Josephine taught in a Sunday School class at Blantyre Church of Central African Presbyterian Mission (A Church established by the Scottish Missionaries in Malawi). She shares in this story book verses from the Bible which children at a Sunday School memorise at Blantyre CCAP Mission.
